The Russian leader’s entourage was diagnosed with COVID, which is why the president was forced to self-isolate, although he is still healthy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is leaving for self-isolation due to a case of coronavirus in his environment. He said this during a conversation with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, reports on Tuesday, September 14, the press service of the Kremlin.
“Vladimir Putin said that in connection with the identified cases of coronavirus in his environment, he must observe the self-isolation regime for a certain period of time,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin is healthy, reports TASS.
“The president is absolutely healthy,” he said, commenting on his state of health. At the same time, answering the question of whether Putin passed a PCR test and whether the result was negative, Peskov replied: “Certainly.”
Putin will not have face-to-face events for some time, but self-isolation will not affect the intensity of his online work.
According to him, the president has decided to take part in the upcoming online summits.
Recall that Putin was vaccinated against the coronavirus on March 23. For a long time it was kept secret which vaccine, however, at the end of June he said that it was Sputnik V.
