In the attack on the deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Boris Vishnevsky, who wanted to file a complaint about the voting results, near the administration building of the Central District, a State Duma candidate from the Party of Pensioners Maxim Gogolin participated. About it writes “Fontanka”.

On the morning of September 20, Vishnevsky took complaints about the abnormal voting results to the territorial election commission. On the way, a man called him, introduced himself as a Fontanka correspondent and asked to meet for a comment.

At the entrance to the election commission, located in the administration of the Central District, the candidate was attacked by five men of “sporty appearance”. One of them snatched copies of the complaints just filed from Vishnevsky. The men blocked the path of the deputy and forcibly did not let him back into the building.

“One of them pushed me away. They didn’t let me into the building, and their chief began to say:“ Go home, you will not get into the building today, ”Vishnevsky quoted Fontanka as saying.

The number from which Vishnevsky was called belonged to Maxim Gogolin, and Vishnevsky himself recognized him from a photograph among the attackers, writes Fontanka. In the video of eyewitnesses after the conflict, Gogolin stood to the left of everyone in a black jacket, the newspaper notes.

The owner of the phone number was identified due to the fact that he was on Gogolin’s profile, which, according to the Dossier Center, was compiled in 2019 by political strategists associated with businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin.

According to “Fontanka”, in May Gogolin participated in the primaries of “United Russia”, but took the penultimate place. After that, he became a candidate for the State Duma from the Party of Pensioners in the 209th district of St. Petersburg (Boris Vishnevsky was in the 216th district).

“Fontanka” notes that Gogolin was familiar with the chairman of the election commission of St. Petersburg Natalya Chechina. When she headed the Kurortny district of the city, she included Gogolin in the public council under the administration.
