Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in Bukovina exposed a criminal group that established an illegal mechanism for the production and sale of forged documents necessary for unhindered crossing the border in conditions of COVID-19. About it informs press service of the SBU.
Three residents of Chernivtsi went into “business” in the spring. They looked for “clients” through carriers.
“Dealers forged certificates of the absence of coronavirus infection; international vaccination certificates and even contracts with foreign employers (in the face of a tough lockdown, some countries were” closed “for tourists, but remained available to foreigners who work there),” the message says.
The attackers offered foreigners the results of PCR tests, allegedly made abroad, and insurance policies. Everything was done in a short time and without visiting medical institutions.
The cost of “services” ranged from UAH 200 to three thousand. “Entrepreneurs” earned up to half a million hryvnia per month.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized special equipment for the manufacture and forgery of documents and computers with evidence of illegal activity; counterfeit stamps and seals of Ukrainian and foreign companies and public health institutions of Chernivtsi and other regions; ready-made forms and equipment for applying holograms.
Criminal proceedings have been opened. The issue of reporting suspicion to the defendants is being resolved.
On the eve, it was reported about a resident of Zaporozhye who was selling fake PCR tests. Her clients were mostly tourists.
Recall that a Kievite was exposed for selling negative PCR tests to travel agencies. The cost of medical certificates ranged from 450 to 850 hryvnia. No testing has been carried out.
