Denisova met with Saakashvili’s mother
Denisova hopes that drawing the attention of the international community to the violation of Saakashvili’s rights will help ensure his rights.
Ombudsman of the Rada for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova met with Saakashvili’s mother Giuli Alasania. Denisova reported this in Facebook.
During the meeting, they discussed the state of health of Mikheil Saakashvili and the conditions of his stay in the medical facility of prison No. 18. The Ombudsman informed about the measures that are being taken to ensure the protection of his rights and proper treatment.
Denisova noted that she sent statements about the violation of Mikheil Saakashvili’s rights to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, OSCE Head Ann Linde, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunya Mijatovic, and many other organizations.
The Ombudsman hopes that drawing the attention of the international community to the violation of Saakashvili’s rights will ensure his rights to life, security, proper medical care and a fair trial.
Earlier it was reported that the mother of Mikhail Saakashvili recorded a video message to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
