A man riding a motorcycle shot a jet of pepper spray at a group of women cyclists traveling along Avenida Paulista on the night of the 24th (Wednesday), as shown in the images in the video below.
As you can see, one of the women affected was wearing a jacket that read “social club antigenocide”.
The cyclists had to interrupt the route as soon as the incident occurred, as some expressed a strong burning sensation in their eyes and inability to continue driving the bicycle at that time. Victims cleaned their faces and no one was injured. The aggressor, who wore a helmet, fled.
In a statement published by the women’s association that was attacked, called Vespas Bike Gang, they claim that “It is important to remember that this attack could have triggered a series of more serious accidents, NOTHING JUSTIFIES WHAT WAS DONE AGAINST US. Fortunately, we are all physically well, despite being quite shaken.”
read the post of the Vespas Bike Gang group on social networks.
Last Wednesday, November 24, 2021, our pedal with more than 40 cyclists was cowardly attacked by two motorcyclists on Avenida Paulista (SP).
In the video, you can see the biker in the red helmet reaching into his left jacket pocket, then taking his hand off the handlebars and directing the spray to our group. We stopped almost immediately after the attack, many girls destabilized, coughing and feeling very sick.
It is important to remember that this attack could have triggered a series of more serious accidents, NOTHING JUSTIFIES WHAT WAS DONE AGAINST US. Fortunately, we’re all physically fine, although we’re pretty shaken up.
That’s why we need your help so that this video reaches as many people as possible and the culprit is held responsible. We cannot let this episode fall by the wayside.
If you were present that day, please contact us by DM. All information and support is important.
