This Sunday (12), starting at 9 am, at Usina do Gasômetro, in the center of Porto Alegre, the solidarity event Pedalada de Natal takes place. The initiative is from the Non-Governmental Organization Reciclando Vidas, which serves 250 children from the Alto Erechim village community, in the Nonoai neighborhood. The action is supported by the Union of Higher Level Servants of the Executive Power of the RS (Sintergs). To support the cause, just donate a toy and participate in the ride.
As highlighted by the founder of Reciclando Vidas, Rodrigo Ramos, the action aims to encourage social participation, distribute toys for children and encourage physical exercise through pedaling. The goal, according to the social educator, who is better known as Rodrigo Sabiah, is to collect as many toys as possible to serve children in the community.
“Over the past two years, with the worsening of the economic crisis, Sintergs has been strengthening its participation in solidarity actions. It is difficult for the civil servant, who has been losing income, but it is also important to see that the crisis is affecting people even more in situation of social vulnerability, especially children”, says Angela Antunes de Souza, director of Sintergs.
