The National Commission has set maximum gas prices for thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants using coal and fuel oil.
The National Commission for Energy and Utilities has changed the ceiling price for gas for thermal generation, reports Ukrinform Thursday, December 30th.
So, for TPPs and CHPPs that use fuel oil, the maximum gas price will be 3300 UAH / MWh, excluding VAT. And for power plants using coal, the gas price will be 8400 UAH / MWh, excluding VAT.
On December 17, the regulator allowed thermal generation to purchase gas in the event of a shortage of coal or fuel oil and set the maximum price for gas at UAH 4,800 / MWh.
Back in November, the Ministry of Energy announced the transfer of some thermal power plants to gas for the sake of saving coal.
Recently, the department said that coal reserves in Ukraine are approaching the guaranteed level.
