Head of OP Andrey Ermak
The contact between the Ukrainian and American sides took place within the framework of a regular dialogue, the head of the OP noted.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on Wednesday, January 12, held a telephone conversation with the US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan. The parties discussed the situation around Ukraine and ways to resolve it, reported Ermak on Twitter.
“We continued a regular dialogue with Jake Sullivan. We discussed the security situation around Ukraine and further steps to de-escalate it,” wrote the head of the OP.
The interlocutors also noted the importance of the further work of the Normandy Four (Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine) to resolve the situation in Donbass.
“We appreciate the continued support of the United States,” Yermak summed up.
Let us remind you that on the eve of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Berlin is in favor of using any format for contacts with Moscow, including “Normandy”.
At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov noted that there is no understanding now regarding the specific date of the “Normandy meeting”.
