At one of the training grounds in the Nikolaev region, a 25-year-old serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bogdan Fedosenko, saved the life of a colleague in a grenade explosion. About this on Thursday, January 20, informed press service of the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The incident occurred during fire training classes, namely throwing combat grenades.

“Senior Lieutenant Fedosenko was appointed leader at the training site. Seeing that the soldier threw a grenade that had rolled onto the parapet, the leader reacted instantly – assessing the situation, without hesitation, pushed Sergeant Roman Shubin away from the site of the grenade explosion and covered him with himself,” the report says.

As a result, Fedosenko received a shrapnel wound and injuries, he was hospitalized. It is noted that the lieutenant is waiting for a short rehabilitation.

As indicated, the command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has prepared a petition addressed to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to encourage Senior Lieutenant Fedosenko.

As reported, 24-year-old fighter of the National Guard Roman Oleksa was killed in the Kiev region during an exercise at the training ground. The soldier was fatally injured while practicing a field raid.
