On the 20th of April, the Westminster Magistrates Court will decide on the extradition of Julian Assange to the United States. The decision on whether to send Assange will then pass to the UK Home Secretary, Priti Patel, says WikiLeaks.
The journalist’s defense will then have until May 18 to present its defense to the British minister.
In the United States, the WikiLeaks founder faces more than a dozen charges and faces up to 175 years behind bars. Assange’s defense is fighting an extradition request filed by the White House during the administration of then-Republican President Donald Trump. — and maintained by Democrat Joe Biden.

Assange has spent three years in maximum security prison in Belmarsh, London, after spending about seven years confined in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the United Kingdom.

Stella Morris and Julian Assange got married on March 23. The couple have two children together and WikiLeaks said it took “long months” of negotiation with the authorities to get permission to hold the ceremony.
According to Wikileaks, at the time only four guests and two witnesses were able to attend the ceremony, in addition to two security guards. Guests had to leave immediately after the event, even though it was held during normal visiting hours.
