Caixa released for consultation, this Friday (8), the value of the extraordinary withdrawal of up to R$ 1 thousand from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS). Through the institution’s website and application, it is possible to check who is eligible and the amount that can be withdrawn.
The money from the fund’s accounts – a right of workers with a formal contract – can only be withdrawn, as a rule, in specific situations, such as in case of dismissal without just cause, in the purchase of a home or in retirement. But, last month, the government published a Provisional Measure releasing the extraordinary loot.
How to consult?
No site Caixa, it is necessary to inform the NIS (PIS/Pasep), which can be consulted in the work card or in any old extract that the worker has, and use a password registered by the person himself. It is also possible to use the Citizen Password. The page offers the option to recover the password, but you must inform the NIS.
There is also the option to consult the Caixa app, which is available for download on Android and iOS phones and tablets.
Caixa estimates that around R$ 30 billion will be released to approximately 42 million workers with the right to withdraw.
Who can withdraw?
Anyone who has a linked FGTS account, active or inactive, can withdraw. The limit value, of R$ 1 thousand, is per person, not per account.
The amount is limited to the balance that the worker has in account. Those who have less than R$ 1 thousand in their accounts, therefore, will be able to withdraw less.
The new withdrawal, however, is optional for the worker. If he is not interested, just do not make any transactions, then the money will automatically return to the fund’s accounts.
See the withdrawal calendar
The FGTS extraordinary withdrawal calendar was established according to the worker’s month of birth. Withdrawals start on April 20 for those born in January and run until June 15 for those born in December.
