A budget bill sent to the Curitiba City Council (CMC) in early April provides for the reallocation of more than R$174 million from the Municipal Planning, Finance and Budget Department to the Curitiba Urbanization Fund.
This is an additional supplementary credit, most of which, according to the project’s justification, signed by Mayor Rafael Greca (DEM), will serve “to meet expenses with the equalization of the difference between the social tariff of R$ 5.50 and the technical fee of BRL 6.3694, in 2022.”

“Considering that the social tariff will generate a budget deficit, there is a need to supplement the allocation for the remuneration of concession contracts with companies”, says the proposition.
There are two divisions of the total amount of the bill, since in the technical description appears the forecast of R$ 1.25 million in consumables, R$ 9.15 million in outsourced contracting for “information technology and telephony” and R$ 163.7 million in corporate services.
In the justification, the City of Curitiba informs that R$ 132.4 million are for the compensation of the fare and R$ 41.6 million for other expenses of collective transport.
