Documentary filmmaker and journalist Sergei Yerzhenkov has been prosecuted for vandalism because of the inscription “Putin, go away” on the monument to Lenin in Kasimov.
According to him, he learned about this telegram channel, he has not yet been formally charged, until today he was sure that he was a suspect.
Yerzhenkov works as a producer in the team of Ksenia Sobchak. In her telegram channel appeared his statement, where he claims that by his action he wanted to draw attention to the deplorable state of the monuments in Kasimov.
“Now the investigation is trying to wrap it up in an article about the desecration of the monument, feverishly looking for offended victims, but it was not we who defiled it with our action, but those who were supposed to protect, store and maintain it in the proper form. There are no victims in this case. monument on the balance sheet. Therefore, I consider this criminal case as an attempt to put pressure on me. I am staying in Russia, I am not going anywhere,” the message says.
Under part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code (“Vandalism”), he could face up to three years in prison.
