The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a meeting
357 people’s deputies voted for the document with the amendments of the head of state, with the minimum required 226.
The Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, April 14, adopted law No. 7186 on the introduction of criminal liability of up to 12 years in prison for complicity with the aggressor state. About it reported parliamentary press office.
357 deputies voted for the document, which took into account the proposals of President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the minimum required 226.
According to the law, now Article 111-2 appears in the Criminal Code, which for deliberate actions aimed at helping the aggressor state, implies a prison term of 10 to 12 years with or without confiscation of property.
The following actions fall under the article:
- implementation or support of decisions and/or actions of the aggressor state, armed formations and/or occupation administration of the aggressor state;
- any cooperation, including the collection, preparation and / or transfer of material resources or other assets to representatives of the aggressor state, its armed formations and / or the occupying administration of the aggressor state.
At the same time, at the suggestion of the president, the item “other voluntary interaction with representatives of the aggressor state, illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, including with the occupation administration of the aggressor state” was removed from this list.
Recall that on March 24, the Rada introduced criminal liability of up to 12 years in prison for complicity with the aggressor state, but on April 6, Zelensky vetoed it and sent a text with his proposals.
