Russia demanded that the Ukrainian troops in Mariupol surrender
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation offered the Ukrainian military at the Azovstal plant to “surrender in exchange for saving their lives.”
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation demanded that the Ukrainian military in Mariupol lay down their arms. The agency reports RIA Novosti.
According to the Russian ultimatum, “without exception” the Ukrainian military must leave Mariupol from 6:00 to 13:00. At the same time, they allegedly have to leave weapons and ammunition.
About 100 thousand people remain in Mariupol and its immediate environs, and Ukrainian troops are limited to pockets of Russian invaders.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the invaders were preparing to conduct a landing naval operation in Mariupol.
