Mother of a young man shot dead in the Jacarezinho favela, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, on Monday night (25), he accused military police of having shot him at close range.
According to Monique Ribeiro dos Santos, mother of 18-year-old Jhonatan Ribeiro de Almeida, the boy arrived dead at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Manguinhos, where he was taken by residents of the community.
“My son was executed within the Jacarezinho community, without owing anything to the police. I want to know why they killed my son, if he is not a drug dealer? And they didn’t help my son, they didn’t give him the right to survive. from the place, killed them and left them there”, he told the newspaper Good morning Rioda TV Globo.
According to the mother, the military police, who occupy the community through the Integrated City project, refused to help the victim. In addition to her, other residents who witnessed the action also accuse military police of executing the young man at a time when, according to them, there was no operation or patrol in the favela.
According to a report by the portal G1the Military Police Internal Affairs opened an investigation to investigate the circumstances of the young man’s death.
In a note sent to the press, the PM said that the agents were unable to help the injured person due to the reaction of a group of residents, who threw stones and bottles towards the team. Also according to them, with the wounded there were drugs and a replica firearm.
