Now it’s official: Zeca Pagodinho will be the plot of Grande Rio, current champion of the carioca carnivalin the 2023 parades. The information was confirmed by the Duque de Caxias school last Wednesday night (4) on social media.
According to the school, carnival artists Leonardo Bora and Gabriel Haddad will pay homage to the musical universe of Zeca Pagodinho and his outlook on the suburbs, the “old Baixada”, street parties and popular religiosity.

“The idea of the tribute came from the carnival artists Gabriel Haddad and Leonardo Bora, who, together with their creative team, are already developing the narrative and visuals for the next parade. For them, talking about Zeca is talking about a Rio de Janeiro not oficial and from a city of Duque de Caxias that is proud of its memories.
Before the official post, the school had already played with the subject, writing on the social network the phrase: “Have they put it to freeze?” to play with the fame of the beer drinker sambista.
Also on Twitter, the samba singer thanked the tribute and promised to participate in the parades.

According to information from the portal G1the hammer on the Zeca Pagodinho plot was hit last Wednesday afternoon (4th) at a meeting at the home of the honorary president of Grande Rio, Jayder Soares.
The meeting brought together the honored singer, the carnival artists Gabriel Haddad and Leonardo Bora and the school’s management. The sambista, in turn, heard the plot proposal, the conduction of his story and work and agreed.
