Biden signs lend-lease for Ukraine
US President Joe Biden signed the law on Lend-Lease for Ukraine. The document, known as the Lend-Lease Law on the Defense of Ukraine’s Democracy of 2022, will expedite the transfer of important military equipment and other critical supplies to Ukraine by reducing red tape. It allows the de facto donation of equipment, with provisions stipulating that the recipient countries pay their cost to the US at a later date.
Zelensky addressed the citizens of the country on the occasion of the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II
In his speech, the president noted that “there is nothing more dangerous than a cunning enemy, but there is nothing more poisonous than a feigned friend.” At the same time, he stressed that now there is a war going on not between two armies, but between two worldviews. As Zelensky said, on Victory Day over Nazism, Ukraine is fighting for a new victory, the path to which is difficult. The head of state stressed that Ukrainians are fighting not for “the tsar, the Fuhrer, the party and the leader,” but for the Motherland. Putin spoke at the parade and justified the invasion of Ukraine
