Czech Republic included in the UN Human Rights Council
The Czech Republic will sit on the United Nations Human Rights Council until December 31, 2023.
The UN General Assembly voted for the inclusion of the Czech Republic in the Council of the World Organization for Human Rights. Earlier, Russia was excluded from the Council. About it informs UN Council on Twitter.
The UN General Assembly elected the Czech Republic to the seat on the Human Rights Council vacated by Russia in April 2022.
It is noted that the Czech Republic will sit in the UN Human Rights Council until December 31, 2023.
Recall, on April 7, the General Assembly approved the suspension of Russia’s membership in the UN Human Rights Council after reports of killings of civilians by Russian military in Ukraine.
It was also reported that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe expelled Russia from the organization.
