Attempt to cross the Russian troops across the Seversky Donets
The most tense situation has developed in the Lugansk region and Mariupol. The Russian Federation is transferring forces from the Kharkiv region to the Donbass.
The most difficult points on the front today are Mariupol and the Lugansk direction.
This was announced on May 12 on the air of the telethon by the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vadim Denisenko.
“There are two most difficult points – the city of Mariupol, namely Azovstal, and the Luhansk direction… The biggest attacks in the Luhansk region occur in the area of Rubizhne, Severodonetsk. Also, the Russians are trying to concentrate on the Slavic and Izyum directions. They are transferring additional forces and equipment to the Lugansk and Donetsk regions,” Denisenko stressed.
“Part of the Russian troops from the Kharkiv region are being transferred to the Donbass. In one of the directions, the Russians have brought up to 300 pieces of equipment,” the adviser added.
According to Denisenko, the situation in Mariupol and the rescue of Ukrainian defenders on Azovstali – a “personal question” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The Ukrainian government is doing everything in its power … But so far everything depends on Putin’s personal position, and everything that will happen in the city of Mariupol depends on his decision,” Denisenko said.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian troops did not stop the offensive in the Donbass. Their task remains to establish full control over Rubizhne, as well as the capture of Liman and Severodonetsk.
