People who lived at metro stations due to shelling and lost their homes will be provided with housing and hot meals, regardless of their place of registration.
From Tuesday, May 24, the Kharkiv metro resumes its work. About this on Friday, May 20, informed mayor Igor Terekhov.
According to him, the city authorities, together with the leadership of the metro, military personnel and law enforcement agencies will do everything necessary for the safety of passengers.
“We can no longer delay – we should launch the subway. My task is to provide the city with transport and restart the economy. People need to go to work. These are taxes, pensions, salaries and, finally, the construction of new microdistricts,” Igor Terekhov emphasized.
At the same time, all people who lived at metro stations due to shelling and lost their homes are promised to be provided with housing and hot meals, regardless of their place of registration.
Igor Terekhov noted that he had never divided and would not divide townspeople and residents of the region. Within a few days, all people will be settled in hostels and will continue to provide them with all kinds of assistance.
“We will provide you with normal living conditions, hot meals, medicines. You will have hot water, the ability to cook your own food. We will prepare a shelter where you can go down during an air raid. We will continue to take care of you,” the mayor of Kharkiv promised .
According to him, children’s rooms will also work in the dormitories. So that everyone has the opportunity to go to work, teachers and kindergarten teachers will look after the children.
Recall that Kharkiv residents are returning home en masse. About 600,000 people have already returned to the city in recent weeks.
