Russia intends to seize even more Ukrainian territories
In the occupied territories, they intend to hold a “referendum” on the entry of “LDNR” into Russia.
In the near future, a “referendum” is planned to be held on the territory of the occupied Donbas, as a result of which they intend to annex the uncontrolled region to Russia. Such plans were voiced by a member of the negotiating delegation of the Russian Federation Leonid Slutsky at a meeting with the leader of the “DPR” Denis Pushilin, Russian media write.
“I am sure that in the coming months there will be “significant events” here. The population of the “DPR” and “LPR” will express their position, as they did earlier in Crimea and Sevastopol, as they themselves consider how to live on. This is their own position, and not Kyiv,” he said.
Slutsky says that the population “will independently determine the status of their states in the near future by expressing their will.”
It should be noted that Russia annexed the Ukrainian Crimea in 2014 with a similar “referendum”. The world community does not recognize the peninsula as Russian.
Recall that on February 21, the Russian Federation recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed “DNR” and “LNR”. And already on February 24, Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
