Actionist artist Bohdan Ziza was sent to the Simferopol pre-trial detention center on the case of preparing to commit a terrorist attack (part 3 of article 30 and part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code), writes Ukrainian edition of “Grati”.
On May 16, Ziza poured yellow and blue paint on the doors and facade of the Russian city administration building in Evpatoria and threw a Molotov cocktail into the building.
On the same day he was arrested. The identity of the suspect was established through surveillance cameras. Law enforcement officers have distributed a video in which Ziza apologizes for the anti-war action and declares that he is ready to be punished for it. His friend, in a conversation with reporters, suggested that the artist was forced to record such a video.
“The crime was not carried through to the end due to circumstances beyond his control, since the incendiary mixture thrown through the window died out and the interior did not ignite,” the FSB said.
Bohdan Zize faces up to 15 years in prison.
