The World Economic Forum will be held from 22 to 26 May
Brende proposes to start restoring schools, roads and bridges so far in the liberated territories of Ukraine.
The President of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos Berg Brand called for a Marshall Plan to rebuild Ukraine, informs Sunday, May 22, edition of Spiegel.
“Even without a peace deal, which is unlikely at the moment, we must start work on reconstruction, at least in areas under Ukrainian control. We are talking about infrastructure, electricity, schools, roads and bridges. We need a Marshall Plan for Ukraine,” Brende said.
He noted that he intends to put forward a call for such a plan at the May 23 WEF meeting.
“We will also gather general directors for this – under the motto “General directors for Ukraine”. The private sector should also play an important role in the reconstruction of the country,” the head of the forum stressed.
As reported, Ukraine will take one of the first places on the agenda of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, which will be held from May 22 to 26.
Today, on the opening day of the conference, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will address the forum participants.
