DTEK plans to increase the volume of renewable energy in Ukraine
The company proposes to increase the capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine to 30 GW in 2030.
DTEK during the World Economic Forum in Davos called on European companies to join the renewable energy development project in Ukraine, informs press service of the company on Tuesday, May 24.
“Renewable energy sources are an important part of energy security. DTEK initiated the 30 to 2030 project, which should become an important part of the recovery plan for Ukraine and aim to increase the capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine to 30 GW in 2030,” the report says.
It is this idea that the company is promoting during the forum in Davos.
“We believe that Ukraine can become a benchmark for renewable technologies by introducing new technologies and business models,” the company said.
An important benefit of this initiative is that in the future Ukraine will be able to replace Russian energy sources and help the EU redesign its energy security.
“We want to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine from the current 9 GW to 30 GW by 2030. It will take billions of investments and EU support. And then all this electricity can be exported to Europe and support Europe,” – noted DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.
Earlier, the CEO of DTEK told at a forum in Germany how Ukraine will help Europe get rid of energy dependence on Russia.
