The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that 54 members of the House of Lords of the British Parliament are prohibited from entering Russia.
Russia imposes personal sanctions on 154 members of the UK House of Lords, including against the chairman, on the basis of reciprocity. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
They are prohibited from entering the country.
It is noted that these representatives of the House of Lords “made a direct contribution to the development of London’s anti-Russian sanctions measures aimed at creating conditions for the political isolation of Russia and the destruction of its economy, used their authority to whip up anti-Russian hysteria in the UK, pandered to the Russophobic political course of the British Conservative government.”
Earlier, the UK announced a new round of sanctions against Russia. This time, the restrictions apply to relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin, including his ex-wife Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, alleged mistress, Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Alina Kabaeva and the inner circle.
In addition, Britain has imposed sanctions against Russian propagandists and Russian state media.
