Caesar howitzers are already at the forefront
Caesar is a new generation self-propelled artillery mount. It makes it possible to hit the enemy at a distance of 20 km or more from the front line with high accuracy.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny informedthat Caesar’s howitzers are already at the forefront.
“Caesar is a new generation self-propelled artillery mount. It makes it possible to hit the enemy at a distance of 20 km or more from the front line with high accuracy. At this distance, there are artillery, reserves, enemy command posts. Their destruction reduces the offensive potential of the enemy,” reports Zaluzhny.
It is reported that these self-propelled guns are on a wheeled chassis, which makes them mobile and maneuverable.
“The installation is equipped with an automated system of self-binding and homing to the target. It has a fairly high rate of fire – 5 rounds per minute and high accuracy of fire. Several types of 155 mm caliber ammunition used in NATO countries can be used,” the commander-in-chief said in a statement.
According to Zaluzhny, Ukrainian gunners quickly mastered the new self-propelled guns, in fact, in 2-3 hours. The Commander-in-Chief reports that Caesar provides comfortable working conditions and makes it possible to operate on the principle of fire – maneuver – fire.
Recall that the Czech authorities handed over Soviet-made attack helicopters of the Mi-24 type to Ukraine.
Earlier, the media reported that three Mi-17 helicopters were delivered to Ukraine from the United States. These are the first of 11 Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters to be delivered under an $800 million US military aid package.
Recall, US Chargé d’Affaires Christina Quinn said that Western allies, who have Soviet-style military aircraft at their disposal, can supply them to Ukraine under bilateral contracts. The US does not restrict them in such supplies.
