In an assembly held on Tuesday night (24) the subway workers decided to accept the company’s proposal made in a hearing held at the Regional Labor Court and canceled the strike scheduled for Wednesday. With the agreement, the lines work normally.
According to the São Paulo Subway Workers’ Union, the agreement establishes the payment of two stepsa term that refers to the remuneration of employees who earn less performing functions equivalent to others who earn more, until 2023. One of them corresponds to a 5% readjustment on August 31, 2022 and the other, of the same percentage, on August 31, January 2023.
It was also agreed to end the so-called “underground”, hiring employees for salaries below the salary floor of the category. Salaries will be readjusted by 12.26%, as well as food and meal vouchers.
Last Tuesday (17), São Paulo Metro workers had already suspended a strike initially scheduled for the 18th. The category had considered the Metro proposals to be insufficient at the time, but accepted the peace clause, with maintenance of the strike state.
