Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has officially sold the English football club Chelsea to Todd Boehley’s consortium. About it informs Companies House (Unified State Register of Legal Entities of Great Britain).
Earlier deal approved the British government and the leadership of the English Premier League. It is reported that the country’s authorities received legal guarantees that Abramovich will not benefit from the sale of Chelsea. The assets of the Russian billionaire in the UK are under sanctions due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Transaction amount is 4.25 billion pounds is about 5 billion euros. It is reported that these funds will be directed to charity.
Todd Buhley is co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. In addition to him, American businessman Mark Walter, Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss and the investment company Clearlake Capital are participating in the deal.
