English musician, founding member and keyboardist of Depeche Mode Andy Fletcher died on Thursday at the age of 60. This was announced on the group’s Twitter page.
Causes of death were not reported. “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness at the untimely death of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy Fletcher.” – said in a message from Depeche Mode.
Fletcher has been making music since the late 70s. Then he played bass guitar in the band No Romance in China. Later, the musician moved to the city of Basildon, where he founded the group Composition of Sound with Vince Clarke and Martin Gore. After some time, vocalist Dave Gahan joined them, and the group itself was renamed Depeche Mode.
