President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his trip to the Kharkiv region fired the head of the regional department of the Security Service of Ukraine Roman Dudin.
According to Zelensky, Dudin from the first days of the war “thought only of himself personally.” What exactly this was expressed, Zelensky did not explain.
Zelensky said that in the Kharkiv region, the military, the police, the mayor of Kharkiv and the regional administration are effectively cooperating and “working for victory” together.
“They have 100% cooperation – the army, the police, the mayor of Kharkiv, the Regional State Administration. Everyone really works for victory and they do it very effectively,” Zelensky said.
However, as he stressed, “the same cannot be said about the local leadership through the Security Service of Ukraine.”
“I arrived, figured it out, fired the head of the security service in the region for not working to protect the city from the first days of a full-scale war, but only thinking about myself personally. Law enforcement officers will find out what motives,” the president said.
Zelensky also said that about a third of the region is now under the control of the Russian military.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the advanced positions of the Ukrainian military in the Kharkiv region. This trip was Zelensky’s first official trip outside the Kyiv region since the beginning of the war.
The President of Ukraine presented state awards to servicemen and met with Oleg Sinegubov, head of the regional administration, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov and other regional leaders. Sinegubov said that in the region during the war, 2229 high-rise buildings were somehow destroyed, and in Kharkov, as follows from messagesaffected more than 30% of the housing stock.
During the meeting, Zelensky suggested “consider the possibility of removing panel houses throughout the country, especially in the destroyed territories,” and building “modern housing” with bomb shelters and shelters instead of the destroyed houses.
