Rio Grande do Sul closed the week with an average of 21 confirmed deaths from covid-19 per day, the highest rate since the third week of March. On the other hand, new cases are falling for the second consecutive week, according to data from the State Health Department (SES) this Friday (10).
The data were published after six days without updates due to maintenance of the Ministry of Health system. In the last seven days, 144 deaths were confirmed in the state, while in the last and penultimate days, 76 and 63 were recorded, respectively.
Only on Wednesday (8), SES confirmed 81 deaths, explaining that 48 of them occurred in June, 32 in May and one is in December 2021. Since the beginning of the pandemic, covid-19 has already killed 39,708 people. in Rio Grande do Sul.
Despite the increase in confirmed deaths, the number of registered cases of the disease continues to fall for the second consecutive week. There were 29,417 records of contamination in 7 days. Last week there were 32,400 new cases across the state, compared to 35,100 in the penultimate week.

The number of people hospitalized in ICUs with a positive diagnosis for covid-19 in Rio Grande do Sul stands at 163, after reaching 177 last Sunday (5). Clinical beds across the state also demonstrate stability over the past seven days.
