Zelensky’s meeting with the leaders of Italy, France, Germany and Romania
The European leaders were given a full package of sanctions proposals against Russia, prepared by Kyiv.
The meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iogannis has ended. This was announced on Thursday, June 16, by the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak.
“Ukraine has the steadfast support of the international coalition. We have handed over to the leaders of states a full package of sanctions proposals against Russia, which were prepared by the McFaul-Yermak international group. We must increase pressure on the aggressor, work on the seventh package of sanctions with the gas embargo. Europe is together with Ukraine today. We will win” , he wrote on social media.
At the same time, Scholz thanked Zelensky for accepting his invitation to attend the G7 summit.
“We Europeans stand firmly by your side,” he tweeted.
