Roskomnadzor blocked the websites of the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty and the publication “Vitebsk Courier”, should from the data of the Roskomsvoboda project.
The decision was made at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, which, as the report says, “continues to add to the register of blocked sites that publish news and articles” about the war in Ukraine. Including with all domains and subdomains locked websites Clutch, SvobodaUA, 7news and others. Also, access is limited to the mirror of “Charter 97”.
Roskomnadzor after the start of the war in Ukraine, according to human rights activists, blocked more than 3,000 sites, including social networks and pages of public figures opposed to the war. 213 media faced pressure: 181 of them were blocked by Roskomnadzor, 21 stopped working on their own, another 11 decided not to write about the war or use only information from the Russian Defense Ministry.
Thus, Present Time, Radio Liberty, Krym.Realii, Voice of America, New Times, Taiga.info, DOXA, Ekho Moskvy, Dozhd, Meduza, BBC Russian Service, Deutsche Welle and others were blocked.
On May 28, Roskomnadzor blocked the websites of Radio Liberty services in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan – Radio Azattyk, Radio Ozodi and Radio Azatlyk, and on June 2 – the website of the Armenian service of Radio Liberty.
