Chernovetsky says that he did not receive any documents from the UCP
The office of the Prosecutor General said today that it has notified the former mayor of Kyiv of suspicion over calls to change the borders of Ukraine.
The former mayor of Kyiv, Leonid Chernovetsky, said he considers the case opened against him a “misunderstanding” and the war against Ukraine a crime. He wrote about this in Facebook on Monday, June 20th.
“I learned from the media that the Office of the Prosecutor General allegedly informed me of a suspicion. So far I can’t comment on anything in essence, since I haven’t received any subpoenas or other documents. I regard the wording of the accusation made in the media – “about calls to change the borders of Ukraine” I regard as a complete misunderstanding. I sincerely love and support a United, Holistic, Independent and European Ukraine,” writes the former mayor of the capital.
He added that “as a businessman and politician, he does his best to help Ukraine and win it as soon as possible.”
Earlier, the Office of the Prosecutor General stated that they had notified the ex-mayor of Kyiv of suspicion on the fact of public appeals and distribution of materials calling for changing the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine.
