
Scholz hopes for a united front of long-term support for Ukraine
The German chancellor said that the restoration of Ukraine will be the task of several generations of Europeans.
Germany is developing a draft Marshall Plan for Ukraine, it will be discussed with members of the G7. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, reports AP News.
Billions of dollars will be needed to finance the reconstruction of Ukraine over many years, he said, and the forward plan can only work if European countries, other major donor countries and international organizations work together.
Scholz also said that together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen he intends to convene a conference of experts on the restoration of Ukraine under the auspices of the German G7 Presidency.
Recall that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons.
He also urged to simplify the procedure for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
