The schedule for the 4th dose (or second booster) depends on the availability of the immunizer in each city. In the capital, everyone aged 40 or over can now look for health facilities. However, according to SES-RJ, six million are missing with immunization and have not yet received any booster dose.
A survey in the units of the state health network confirms that vaccination is the best form of protection against the worsening of the disease. Between the 9th and 10th of June, 59% of those hospitalized with covid were not fully vaccinated.

The Secretary of State for Health, Alexandre Chieppe, made an appeal for the people of Rio de Janeiro to seek to keep up to date with vaccination. “Studies show that, since the beginning of the campaign, there has been a significant reduction in the severe forms of Covid. Therefore, we appeal to the population to seek health centers to receive the immunizer as soon as possible”, he said in a note.
SES-RJ advised the municipal Health Departments to adopt measures to expand vaccination coverage, such as the active search for non-vaccinated people and extramural vaccination. This Thursday (23), according to the covid panel of the prefecture, 157 people are hospitalized in the SUS network of the capital.
