It’s time to demilitarize Russia for the sake of the security of all of Europe
Reznikov explained that the last missile attacks on Ukrainian cities were carried out by the Russians from the waters of the Caspian and Black Seas, as well as from the airspace of Belarus, pretending not to be a party to the military conflict.
Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov believes that the only condition for the resumption of dialogue between the West and Russia can be the demilitarization of the European part of the aggressor state.
Reznikov explained that the last missile attacks on Ukrainian cities were carried out by the Russians from the waters of the Caspian and Black Seas, as well as from the airspace of Belarus, pretending not to be a party to the military conflict. According to him, this is a strategic threat to the security of the entire European continent.
Therefore, a quick response from Western partners should be to provide Ukraine with modern air and missile defense systems. According to Reznikov, this will create an additional security border of 500-1000 km in front of other NATO countries.
Also, according to the minister, it is necessary to strengthen the sanctions regime so that Russia does not have the opportunity to produce high-tech weapons, including cruise missiles. Reznikov added that many components in Russian missiles are produced in NATO member countries.
Separately, he voiced his vision of long-term measures to ensure peace on the continent.
“The long-term answer is also obvious – the condition for a dialogue on the resumption of relations between the civilized world and Russia should be the demilitarization of at least the European part of the terrorist state. The depth and parameters of demilitarization should be determined by experts,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Recall that the Russian military in the temporarily occupied Energodar, Zaporozhye region, kidnap civilians in order to demand money for their release later.
