Moscow retaliated against Ottawa’s sanctions and denied entry to 43 Canadian citizens. This is stated in statement Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, distributed on June 27.
“In response to the new sanctions imposed by the Canadian authorities in May 2022 against the executive staff of Russian companies and members of their families, entry to Russia is permanently closed for 43 Canadian citizens,” the diplomatic mission noted.
We are talking about federal and regional officials, functionaries of the ruling Liberal Party and public figures.
As emphasized in the statement, “Justin Trudeau’s ruling regime in Canada is stubbornly pursuing a course of militant Russophobia.”
