A court in Baranavichy sentenced a local resident to 12 years in a high-security penal colony on charges of “an act of terrorism,” informs Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus.
The man was convicted under articles on illegal actions in relation to objects with combustible substances (part 1 of article 295 of the Criminal Code), as well as on an “act of terrorism” (part 1 of article 289 of the Criminal Code).
According to the prosecution, on September 26, 2020, a resident of Baranovichi made three Molotov cocktails in the garage. Then he set fire to them and threw them into the parking lot of military unit 7404, the press service of the department writes. It is specified that one of the thrown objects hit the windshield of military vehicles.
