A survey by the Datafolha Institute on Education topics in Brazil released on Sunday (3), points out that 73% of respondents believe that sex education should be included in the country’s school curriculum.
The study, which was commissioned by the Center for Studies and Research in Education, Culture and Community Action (Cenpec) and the educational action, listened to 2,090 Brazilians aged 16 or older, from 130 municipalities in the country, from March 8 to 15 of 2022.

For 91%, talking about the subject helps to prevent sexual abuse of children and adolescents. 80% believe that schools should promote the right of people to freely experience their sexuality, whether they are heterosexual or LGBT.
Regarding the debate on racism, for 90%, teachers should discuss racial discrimination in the classroom. On the topic of militarization in educational centers, 70% trust civilians more than the military to work in schools. And for 93%, schools must respect all religions, including Candomblé, Umbanda and people who have no religion.
