The EU can give up to half of the funds for the restoration of Ukraine
One of these days, a conference will be held in Switzerland, at which Ukraine will present a plan for post-war reconstruction.
The European Union can provide the bulk of the funds for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, allocating more than 500 billion euros, writes Bloomberg on Sunday, July 3rd.
According to the publication, at a donor conference in Lugano (Switzerland) this week, Ukraine will present a large-scale project for the reconstruction of the country, which consists of about 2,000 pages and contains a wide list of projects in the field of infrastructure and security, investment in climate and digital economy, as well as diversification energy resources.
It is argued that the bulk of the total financial assistance will be covered by the European Union.
The European Commission is already exploring funding options, which include grants and loans.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal and Head of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk have already left for the conference in Lugano. They were met by Swiss President Ignazio Cassis.
Earlier, the head of the European Investment Bank, Werner Hoyer, estimated the need for the restoration of Ukraine at a trillion euros.
