In the United States, police detained 22-year-old Robert Crimo, suspected of armed attack during a parade in honor of Independence Day in the suburbs of Chicago (Illinois), informs CNN channel. As a result of the shooting, six people were killed and more than 36 were injured.

Several eyewitnesses told The Chicago Sun-Times that hundreds of parade participants, some covered in blood, fled, leaving chairs, prams and blankets. The parade was stopped 10 minutes after the shots were fired.
One of the witnesses, Sean Cotro said CBS News that the shooter was on the roof of one of the buildings. According to him, the shots continued for several minutes.
The suspect managed to escape from the scene of the crime, the police warned that he was a danger. US President Joe Biden declaredthat he was “appalled at the senseless gun violence” and vowed to fight “an epidemic of gun violence”.
