Starting this week, drivers from Rio de Janeiro will be able to request the renewal of their driver’s license without leaving home. The service, launched by Detran.RJ, can be requested by the Posto Digital, available on the agency’s website..
Users will only have to go to the stations, without scheduling, to take a new photo and provide fingerprints. Then also to get the document.
If before it was necessary to schedule to be attended for the service, now the service will be in order of arrival. The user will be able to choose any Detran unit to do the photography and biometrics.

Through the Digital Post, he will receive the address of the medical clinic where he will take the physical and mental fitness exam, and will indicate the Detran unit where he wants to get his new CNH.
The purpose of the change, according to the agency, is to simplify the CNH renewal process and facilitate the population’s access to the service.
The service is only valid for users who opt for a simplified CNH renewal, that is, without changing the data of the previous card, or, at most, with the inclusion of information on remunerated activity. Any change beyond this will require the prior appointment of the service at a Detran.RJ post.
Simplified CNH renewal is not mandatory. Those who prefer can continue to make the prior appointment at the posts. For the new simplified version, the previous CNH must have been issued in the state of Rio de Janeiro and the current domain must be from RJ. Users aged 65 and over are exempt from the Duda fee.
