The court of the Kirovsky district of the Mogilev region of Belarus sentenced student Danuta Peredna for reposting a publication condemning the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This was reported by the volunteer human rights initiative MAYDAY.
It is reported that a 20-year-old girl was sentenced to 6.5 years in a penal colony on charges of actions aimed at causing harm to the national interests of the Republic of Belarus (part 3 of article 361 of the Criminal Code of Belarus), and on charges of insulting President Alexander Lukashenko (part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Belarus). 1 article 368 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).
The student was detained on February 28, 2022 in Mogilev. According to human rights activists, the reason for the detention was that she reposted a text in one of the chats the day before, which sharply criticized the actions of Lukashenka and Putin, and also contained calls for street protests and the thesis that the Belarusian army had no prospects in case of its direct entry into the war.
In June, the KGB of Belarus added Perednya to the list of “persons involved in terrorist activities.”
