The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK) will check the statements of the imam of the Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek, Sadybakas Doolov, who linked the rise in meat prices with “the fall in the price of a woman’s body.”
“The SAMK will conduct an audit to clarify the purpose for which Sadybakas azhy Doolov said the words recorded on the video,” leads text of the press release Kyrgyz Service of Radio Liberty.
Video with the imam spread in the Kyrgyz segment of social networks. Users were outraged by his phrase: “Due to the fall in prices for the female body, the price of lamb meat is rising in the market.”
Doolov himself told the Kyrgyz service of Radio Liberty that his “words have been taken out of context and their meaning has been reversed.” “I said that before saying that the price of meat has risen, everyone should think about their character, behavior, moral values. There is no need to blame the management or traders for everything. There were words about why you are talking about the price of meat, but your honor is not hurts when women walk around with their bodies naked,” Doolov said. According to the imam, he did not intend to humiliate women.
According to information on the SAMK website, Sadybakas Doolov was a member of the Council of Aalyms in 2021. In 2020, at that time, Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Toktomushev presented him with a departmental award – the Aikol medal.
