With ten days to go before the first round, the election for the governor of Rio Grande do Sul is indefinite. According to a survey carried out by Studio Pesquisas, commissioned by the Popular Media Center/Brasil de Fato RSOnyx Lorenzoni (PL), Eduardo Leite (PSDB) and Edegar Pretto (PT) are in contention for two spots in the second round.
Onyx leads with 29.5% of voting intentions, followed by Eduardo Leite with 27.3% and Edegar Pretto with 21.6%. Onyx and Leite are in a technical tie.
Luís Carlos Heinze (PP) appears in fourth position with 5.7%, while Roberto Argenta (PSC) has 3.2%, Ricardo Jobim (Novo) 1.4% and Vieira da Cunha (PDT) 1.3%.
Whites and nulls add up to 3.6% and the undecided are 5.8%. The other candidates did not reach 1% of the voting intentions.
While 80.2% of respondents say that the option to vote for governor is final, 16.5% can change it until election day.
Senate has a technical tie between Mourão and Olívio
Studio Pesquisas also determined the intention to vote for the Senate. Hamilton Mourão (Republicans) has 33.3% and Olívio Dutra (PT) 31.2%, which is a technical tie. Ana Amélia (PSD) has 16.1% and Comandante Nádia (Progressistas) has 5.7%.
Whites add up to 4% and undecided 7.3%. The other candidates did not reach 1% of the voting intentions.
For 80.8% of respondents, the option to vote for the Senate is definitive, while 17.5% can change it until election day.
Bolsonaro and Lula also tie in RS
In the race for the Presidency of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has 42.7% of voting intentions in Rio Grande do Sul, while Lula reaches 38.9%. Ciro Gomes (PDT) has 5.9%, Simone Tebet (MDB) has 4.8% and Felipe D’Ávila (Novo) has 1.3%.
Whites add up to 2.4% and undecided 2.6%. The other candidates did not reach 1% of the voting intentions.

A search The maximum predicted margin of error is plus or minus 2.52 percentage points, considering a 95% confidence level. A total of 1,512 people were interviewed, in different municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul, on the 16th and 17th of September. The survey is registered on the TSE website under the number RS-04031/2022.
