An attack was made on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran, the head of the security service of the diplomatic mission was killed. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
This happened on the morning of January 27th. The attacker was armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. According to the Trend agency, the name of the deceased is Orkhan Askerov.
According to the agency, two embassy guards were also wounded while preventing the attack. Their condition is satisfactory.
“This treacherous attack is currently under investigation,” the ministry said in a statement.
The attacker has been arrested.
