On the evening of January 28, the press service of Yevgeny Prigozhin reported that the PMC “Wagner” took the village of Blagodatnoye in the east of the Donetsk region.
“Units of the Wagner PMC took Blagodatnoe. Blagodatnoe is under our control,” the report says. The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet confirmed this information. The Strana publication noted that publics associated with Wagner published a photo of mercenaries with a PMC flag at the entrance to the village.
In the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for January 29, Prigozhin’s statement about the capture of the village of Blagodatnoye was refuted. The report refers to the successful repulsion of the Russian attack in the Blagodatny area and 13 other settlements in the Donetsk region.
