Consequences of the earthquake in Hoi An
An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred on January 28 in the northwestern part of Iran. Three people are known to have died.
The epicenter of the tremors was located 23 km southeast of the city of Hoi, where 175,000 people live. The earthquake cell lay at a depth of 7 km. This was reported by IRNA with reference to the governor of the province Mohammad Sadegh Motamedyan.
The number of victims of the earthquake increased to 816, three people died. According to preliminary estimates, the earthquake caused damage to two cities and more than 70 villages, destroyed 20-50% of buildings, the governor said.
We will remind, earlier in the north-west of Iran there was an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 points. About 120 people were injured then.
